Rensselaer County resident Daniel Landfear, age 34, of Troy, was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 29, by New York State Police.
According to investigators, Landfear had sexual contact with a 10-year-old child and forcibly touched a 16-year-old. Both incidents reportedly occurred in Troy.
Leandfear’s arrest came months after he was taken into custody in June 2023 for allegedly sending sexual images to a minor.
Troopers with the New York State Police Internet Crimes Against Children task force began investigating him after receiving a tip.
Landfear is charged with the following:
- Disseminating indecent materials to a minor
- Criminal sex act
- Forcible touching
- Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child
Following his arraignment, Landfear was ordered held at the Rensselaer County jail on $20,000 bail.
New York State Police say there may be additional victims in the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the agency at 518-279-4427 or email crimetip@troopers.ny.gov.
